Yesterday we had the honor of hosting iconic photographer Chen Man at Electric Pony Studios warehouse who was shooting for Aston Martin. At only 36, she has been called the Annie Lebowitz of China, which seems both exciting and limiting for Man, whose creative style carries a force that clearly blazes its own path.
Going down the Chen Man rabbit hole is a curious and vivid experience. Throughout all of her work, Man achieves fusion - she blends a clearly eastern, Chinese perspective with comedy, eros, fashion, tradition, commerce, high art to create something fresh. She also uses herself as subject at times.
