In theory, the internet is a new kind of library, minus the direct connectivity to other humans, but still a place that represents expansiveness. Except, the internet is gloriously faceless + placeless. What would the internet even look like? A dirty mall? A circus? Las Vegas?

We were reminded this morning of one of our favorite photography books of all time. In her book appropriately called Libraries , Candida Höfer displays immaculate portraits of some of the world's most beautiful libraries. Pouring through the pages, all manner of feelings and ideas connect - eroticism, sex, intimacy, silence, privacy, peace, expansiveness...
